Guidelines

GCCF Reps have the distinction of being non-party political and representing the Forum generally and not just their own organisation.

Draft guidelines are in the process of being developed to clarify the duties of GCCF Reps. The following reports of training sessions for GCCF Reps are useful introductions to some of the procedures GCCF Reps should follow.

Attendance

Many GCCF Reps are not aware that meetings require at least one Social Partner (which includes GCCF Reps) before they can proceed. It has been the case that meetings have had to be abandoned because no Forum Rep showed up - this is unacceptable given that most bodies have 2 Reps from the Forum. If you cant make a meeting make sure that the other Forum Rep can and send your apologies to the appropriate person.

It has been agreed that where a GCCF Rep fails to attend 3 consecutive meetings that he/she will be invited to explain themselves before the Steering Group.

Reporting back to Forum

It is a requirement of all GCCF Reps that they complete a reporting template as a record of each meeting they attend on behalf of the GCCF. These reports should then be returned to the Forum co-ordinator who will post them on the website where they can be accessed by all Forum members.

Expenses

There is financial assistance to assist GCCF Reps in attending meetings. Contact the Co-ordinator for more details.

Elections

How to get elected

Those interested in representing the Forum should make that interest known to the Forum Co-ordinator. Procedures for getting elected will vary depending on the circumstances i.e. whether a single position needs to be filled or an entire panel. The constitution provides more details on the selection (& deselection) of GCCF Reps.
